“WOODY” VERSUS YIMOU AT NEWMARKET!

Dancinginthewoods – back at Newmarket in the 5.20

DEAN doesn’t often run two of his stable stars in the same race but today Solario Racing’s Dancinginthewoods and Andrew Cohen’s Yimou go head to head in a 6f handicap at Newmarket (5.20pm) and it looks an intriguing duel.

“Woody,” the mount of Joe Fanning, is rated 80 and Yimou (Ryan Tate aboard) 2lbs higher and both have been in pretty good form this season, although the later is yet to get his head in front.  He’s going back up to 6f while the son of Garswood is staying at 6f although we know he gets 7f well.

There are only eight runners but hopefully there will be plenty of pace on to suit both horses.  It’s an open race and the two stable runners are quite weak in the market with Yimou the rank outsider at 14/1 and “Woody” also in double figures at 10/1.  They go 7/2 the field which shows what an open contest it is.

It may not be the “Race of the Century”, which was how Grundy versus Bustino was dubbed 46 years ago but nevertheless the 0-95 handicap is still a race connections of both Harper Lodge Farm horses would love to win.  If the pace is right, “Woody” might just have the edge and 10/1 could end up looking a generous each-way price.  Good luck to Solario Racing (Ashridge)!

The yard also runs Broxi in the last, a mile handicap due off at 6.25pm.  It’s his second attempt at the trip and down another 3lbs, he’s looking attractively handicapped.  Rab Havlin take the ride on the 10/1 shot who would have each-way claims at 10/1.
