GREAT TO BE BACK HOSTING RACING HOSPITALITY!

Racing Hospitality is back!

Racing Hospitality is back!

RACING HOSPITALITY has been pretty much non-existent for 16 months but at last it’s possible and Solario Racing today hosted an event at Newbury in The Racegoers Restaurant and what fabulous weather to mark the occasion!

It was back in October 2019, that Solario Racing last hosted a racing hospitality event, coincidentally, at Newbury and of course the world, including racing, has changed so much in that time.  Okay, so there are still plenty of restrictions and guidelines and tables of 10 are a no-no but some things don’t change….

Solario Racing’s tipster competition was back with a vengeance and the simple put in a fiver, winner takes all rules still apply, Covid or no Covid!  As the Champagne flowed, Owners on three Solario tables studiously studied the form and possibly the Racing Manager’s tipping guide before the first of eight races.

The Queen landed the odds in the second race on the card with Reach For The Moon with Frankie doing the steering.  Her Majesty had another winner on the card, the not unfancied, 2yo debutante Intelligentsia which won at 5/1 for Hughes and Dobbs.  Hope The Queen did them in a treble as she had another winner later on in the day, courtesy of Portfolio at Newmarket which completed a 39/1 three-timer.

Frankie, who loves riding good horses in the sun (he’s not in the best of moods when it’s cold and raining!) had a double when Golden Bugle obliged in the richest race of the day, the fillies’ handicap over 1m 5 1/2 furlongs.

As for the tipping competition,  it was won a shade cosily by new Solario Racing owner, Matt Simmons, so congratulations to him.  Solario Racing Owners are generous to a fault and they also raised a sum for Herts-based charity for the homeless, DENS.

Oh and just so you know, Matt Simmons has a share in the exciting Tamayuz chestnut 2yo we’re about to name.  He’s clearly a lucky owner, so why not join him in the 1/12th share syndicate?  There are limited shares available.  Please call Simon Double on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com for details.
