DANCINGINTHEWOODS and YIMOU are both fast ground horses and they have ideal Good to Firm ground on day two of Newmarket’s July meeting.
The former is in the 4.10, a nine-runner £25k 0-90 handicap over 7f for 3yos and upwards. This is exactly the same race as last year when he was narrowly beaten into second place at HQ except that was a 3yo only race. Going back to 7f should suit ideally, he has Hollie Doyle on board (one ride, one win to date) and he should run a big race in what is admittedly his toughest race to date in 14 career starts.
At 14/1, he looks good each-way value but there are plenty of unexposed 3yos including the Queen’s Inveigle and the Roger Varian-trained Aquaman to post threats.
In the lucky last, Yimou takes on 16 rivals in a 5f handicap and he has the assistance of Jim Crowley for the first time. It’s a really tough race but the son of Kodiac should get a decent pace he needs and is worth a look each-way at around 12/1.
Good luck to both horses and their connections!
