Hot Chesnut – runs at Newbury

HOT CHESNUT runs in the lucky last at Newbury tonight, a 6f handicap, due off at 8.50pm and after her encouraging third last time out at Newmarket when beaten just half a length, she could go close on just a pound higher mark.

The half-sister to the yard’s Fighting Temeraire and Thomas Equinas, the chestnut filly runs of 69 today but even as a 2yo she showed she had the potential to be rated higher.  This is only her fifth run and like a lot of Dean’s horses, they improve with racing as they’re not fully wound up as youngsters, so she should be in the mix tonight and looks a sound each-way look at around 6/1.  Rab Havlin rides.

A big danger could be former stablemate, Lordsbridge Boy who has been knocking at the door of late and he deserves to get his head in front sometime soon, having been runner-up twice in three of his last four starts.
