Flaming Spear – runs at York
FLAMING SPEAR runs in a very competitive 7f handicap at York today (3.40pm) and he’s a big price to win his first race since 2018 but he’s well handicapped off 83 and if he puts his best foot forward, could be in the shake-up.
The 9yo has regressed during the last two and a half years but he has shown glimpses of ability including last time out at Kempton when he ran with the choke out. A previous winners over a mile on The Knavesmire, he has winning form over 7f and a fast-run race should suit.
Joey Haynes rides the 28/1 shot in which there are loads of dangers including Fortamour, Get Knotted, Boardman and Shawaamekh.
