LIBRISA BREEZE, the stable’s Group One-winning sprinter, returns to the racecourse today after an absence of 412 days.
The 9yo son of Mount Nelson is one of just five runners in the 0-105 handicap over a mile at Chelmsford, due off at 7pm and is the outsider of the party at 16/1. Joey Haynes takes the ride on the grey gelding, who is having his first run since a wind operation.
Best known for winning the Group One Champions Sprint at Ascot in the autumn of 2017, which was his last win, he has won over a mile and even further in his younger days.
“Breeze” has been in good form at home but the long absence is a big disadvantage against more race fit rivals and he will be doing well to win today. The stable is just hoping he can show some of his old sparkle.
