Sophie Ralston – rides the well-supported Nezar
NEZAR, the yard’s only runner today, has been well supported to give Dean his long-awaited first winner of the year when lining up for the lucky last at Kempton, a 7f handicap due off at 8.15pm.
The 9yo chesnut is on a long losing run but he’s come down the weights as a result and he did run well when third in December off a pound higher mark. His last win was under tonight’s jockey Sophie Ralston off a 7lb higher mark, so this combined with a good draw on the inside (one of ten) means he has plenty going for him.
The son of Mastercraftsman has been well supported from 20/1 into 9/1 and could reward each-way backers. Dangers include Born to Finish and Pholas.
