“TWINKLE” AND TAMAYUZ COLT SETTLING IN WELL

Twilight Son x Winifred Jo

“Twinkle”

SOLARIO RACING’S two new acquisitions, a lovely Twilight Son filly, known as “Twinkle” and a Tamayuz colt (yet to have a nickname) have both settled in well at Childwickbury Stud.

The two yearlings were purchased at Tattersalls last week and they arrived at the historic 19th century Hertforshire Stud last week end.  For “Twinkle”, it’s a case of coming back home as she was born and reared as a foal at Childwickbury under the careful eye of her breeder and stud manager, Max Weston.

They’re both good-looking individuals by Group One winning sires and their pedigrees have plenty of black type as well as two-year-old winners.  But how would they cope with a Solario Racing photo-session?

Today, armed with trusty Canon, I went down to see them both to take a few shots and I was delighted with how relaxed they both were.

First up was “Twinkle”, who has paired up and made good friends with a Sea Moon yearling filly, bred and owned by one of Dean’s owners, Dr Anne J Gillespie.  She made her presence felt initially with a little foot stamping (nice to see some spirit!) but she soon warmed to the task and posed beautifully for some head and body shots.

Next up was the Tamayuz, a chestnut like his sire and he’s a really imposing colt with plenty of presence.  Consigned by The National Stud, he was prepared as well as the filly and also showed a penchant for the camera.  He was even happy to pose with a potential owner!

Both yearlings will stay at Childwickbury Stud for the next two months.  Initially, it’s good for them to chill out after a busy sales preparation but then they’ll start to be broken in before moving to Dean Ivory just before Christmas.

Both yearlings are available for private viewings, socially distanced of course!  Please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com to arrange a day, Mondays to Saturdays.
