DOVER LIGHT WELL SUPPORTED AT WOLVES

Dover Light – well supported at Wolverhampton

DOVER LIGHT, one of two stable runners today on the all-weather, has been well supported in the 5.50 at Wolverhampton this afternoon.

A winner after racing resumed at Lingfield at 33/1 over a mile off a mark of 59, he is only one pound higher today in the 14-runner handicap over 1mile 1/2 furlong.  Drawn well in three, he is the mount of George Downing, who won on him in June.  Backed down from 14/1 to around half those odds, the 3yo son of Sir Prancealot has good each-way claims.

At Lingfield earlier on, Archdeacon lines up for a selling handicap over 1m2f, due off at 4.55pm.  He too has won just one race in his career, when sluicing home by 5l at Chelmsford last year.  He took a hike in the weights but is back down to just two pounds higher than when he won.  If he recapture his form of two starts ago, when second at Bath, he could also go well under William Cox but he’s weak in the market at 20/1.
