ELJADDAAF AND TEMERAIRE LOCK HORNS AGAIN

Eljaddaaf – runs at Lingfield

ELJADDAAF and FIGHTING TEMERAIRE do battle again in the 6.55 at Lingfield today, a 7f handicap on the all-weather and although the latter won with his stablemate in third back in June, it could be closer today between the pair.

The 33/1 winner that day is now 6lbs worse off for beating Eljaddaaf 1 3/4 lengths, which could be enough to reverse placings.  The problem for the 9yo son of Shamardal is that he needs a fast pace and has to be held up, so everything needs to drop right for him.  If it does, he could go close under Joey Haynes and is worth an each-way look at 12/1.

As usual, Fighting Temeraire is a market drifter, out to 20/1 and he also looks overpriced and given he’s a more straightforward ride, should not be discounted.  George Downing rides.

Does a forecast beckon?

Laurentia runs in a Classified Stakes at Wolverhampton in the 4.40 and she has a bit to find on ratings.  The return to 7f will help and she was placed over course and distance two runs ago.  Unfortunately, she is drawn on the wide outside.  Sophie Ralston rides the 16/1 shot who should run her race but will be doing well to beat the odds on favourite and form horse, Come On Bear.
