FIGHTING TEMERAIRE is one of three stable runners today, the first of 2020 and he looks to have the best chance of getting the yard off the mark in the New Year.
One of six runners in the mile handicap at Chelmsford (6.30pm), the small field is not ideal and there is a question mark over the step up to a mile but he won last time out at the course over 7f, Adam Kirby is on board and if things drop right, he has a good chance at 5/1.
Earlier in the day at the track, Kerrera is one of 15 runners in the open-looking Classified Stakes over a mile at 4pm. The mare won two starts back but failed to build upon that last time out and she may not be one to trust implicitly. Sophie Ralston claims five pounds on the 7/1 shot.
The first stable runner of the day is Classic Charm in the 12.15 a mile handicap. Her record is not great on the all-weather and she is 9lbs higher than when second over course and distance last summer. Joey Haynes rides the 20/1 outsider who needs to improve significantly on recent efforts to trouble the judge.
