Archdeacon – supported at Lingfield
ARCHDEACON looks interesting today at Lingfield (3.20pm) being dropped back to ten furlongs and also with the reapplication of cheekpieces.
A winner three starts ago over 1m2f, he has been below form since and didn’t appear to stay 1m4f last time out. With headgear back on and Sophie Ralston taking 5lbs off his back, the son of Archipenko has been supported in the market to around 7/1 and is an each-way player.
The other stable runner today is Charming Kid who makes his debut for the yard in the 1.40, a 6f handicap. A winner at Dundalk when with Richard Fahey, the son of Charm Spirit is having his first run since June and his first since being gelded. Rated 90, he clearly has ability but is one rather friendless in the market at 20/1 and will almost certainly benefit from the run. Joey Haynes rides.
