BRUYERE is one of two stable runners at Yarmouth today and one of four runners throughout the day and this lightly-raced filly has a good chance of breaking her duck in the 10f handicap at the seaside track (4pm).
She showed improved form when stepped up to a mile and a quarter at Nottingham 13 days ago and her last three runs, all seconds, have been on Soft, Good to Soft and Soft, so we know she lies to get her toe in. Hopefully, today’s heavy conditions won’t be too demanding and she can reward each-way backers at around 9/2. Martin Dwyer, who rode her three times last year, is back in the saddle.
Soaring Spirits is the other Yarmouth runner, when lining up for a 7f handicap at 5pm under Sophie Ralston. Badly out of form in his last five runs, he is now running off his lowest ever mark of 52. He needs to show an upturn in form to win today and is a 25/1 shot.
At Kempton, maybe it could be Red Cossack’s turn at long last. He likes the track, is drawn 3, has Joey Haynes on board and may be able to record his second career win in what will be his 41st start. He’s around 13/2 and has each-way credentials in the mile handicap, due off at 5.30pm.
Finally, Yimou runs in the 7.30 at Kempton, a 6f handicap and if he could translate his fast ground turf form to the all-weather, he might have an each-way squeak at 12/1 under Joey Haynes.
