CLASSIC STAR EACH-WAY CLAIMS AT LEICESTER

Luke Bacon - rides Classic Star at Leicester

Luke Bacon – rides Classic Star at Leicester

DEAN runs three horses today and Classic Star is probably the best chance of a winner, when lining up for the 5.10 at Leicester today, a nine-runner Apprentice handicap over 7f.

He was fourth over course and distance off today’s mark in June when the going was soft and will face similar testing conditions today (the going is Heavy).  Luke Bacon rides and he gets on well with the Sea The Moon gelding,  having been second and fourth on him from two starts.  Favourite Stallone looks the danger but Classic Star is worth an each-way look at 9/2.

Sittin Handy is one of the more moderate horses in the yard with a rating of 45 and he lines up for the 8.10 at Chelmsford, a 1m2f handicap.  He ran quite well when fourth over a mile at the track a fortnight ago.  He is off his lowest mark ever today and with Joey Haynes aboard, if he stays the extra distance, he  could be interesting each-way at 33/1.

Finally, Overbeck is a 66/1 chance in the 10f maiden at Chelmsford, due off at 7.10pm.  He is likely to have better opportunities once handicapping. Joey Haynes takes the ride.
