Dancinginthewoods – form chance at Doncaster

DANCINGINTHEWOODS, owned by Solario Racing (Ashridge) has the form in the book to run a big race at Doncaster this afternoon in a 7f novice, due off at 3.20pm.

The third and sixth horses in the Newmarket novice he won, have won since while Pinatubo who won the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom, in which “Woody” was fourth, went on to smash the track record at Ascot when winning the Chesham at the royal meeting last Saturday.

Today, he faces eight opponents, some of whom are extremely well bred such as the Dubawi colt Imperial Empire or the 270,000 guineas colt, Always Fearlesss and we have to give them all 3lbs.  However, only the 100/1 shot Bad Rabbit and Dancinginthewoods have run before, so previous experience and form are in our favour.

Hopefully, we can at least be in the frame with Joey Haynes in the saddle and 7/2 looks a more than fair price.

The  stable could get off the mark with Lothario in the opener, a mile handicap.  He has won twice this season and is still relatively lightly raced for a five-year-old, just 13 runs.  At 5/1, the son of Dark Angel has each-way credentials at 5/1 under Robert Winston.
