TODAY is Father’s Day, so there would probably be no more topical winner than Daddy’s Daughter that runs for the stable in the 4.45 at Salisbury, a 7f fillies’ handicap but what are her chances? That’s a tricky conundrum!
It’s difficult to know what to expect on her handicap debut. She won first time out at Kempton over a mile and then was pitched in at the deep end in a fillies’ Listed race in which she finished down the field. Next time, at Chelmsford, she pulled far to hard over 1m2f, so the drop back to 7f today, should suit.
She is an excitable daughter of Scat Daddy and today has a hood to keep her calm. If it works and she copes with the soft ground (she has never run on turf before), she looks interesting each-way at 9/1. The favourite, Dashed, representing owners, Cheveley Park has form on the soft and is clearly the one to beat. Robert Winston who has ridden the stable runner twice before, is on board again.
