CLASSIC CHARM is one of four stable runners today when lining up for the 5.15 at Chelmsford and she is a general 5/2 favourite to break her duck.
Placed twice in her last two starts, both at the Essex course, the drop back to 7f should help and she should go close under Rober Winston.
Also at Chelmsford, Dean runs Badenscoth (4.40) over a mile and Nicky Baby in the 8.15, a 1m2f handicap. The former, the mount of Jack Duern, claiming three, should come on for his last run after a long absence and this course and distance winner has an each-way shout at 12/1. The latter is one of the yard’s lesser lights but dropped another five pounds to 40, could be an each-way player at 22/1 under Robert Havlin. However, the grey is 5yo and is still a maiden after 20 starts so he does come with a Government Health warning!
Finally, the day kicks off for the yard with Dark Magic in the 2.30 at Lingfield and this previous Newmarket winner has proved disappointing since that win back in July 2017. Once rated, 81, the son of Dark Angel runs off 59 today and apprentice, Sophie Ralston claims 7lbs. He’s been supported into 8/1 and is another with each-way claims but he’s not the most reliable of sorts.
