LIBRISA BREEZE, fresh from his good fourth in a Group One at Deauville 13 days ago, can go one better than last year’s second in the Hungerford Stakes, when he bids to win the Group Two at Newbury (3.35pm).
While he won’t get the really soft ground he craves, the official good going certainly won’t have any jar in it and at 100/30, he’s Librisa is a solid each-proposition. Dangers included the favourite, Gustav Klimt, placed in three Group Ones while Yafta is a potential improver. However, the Robert Winston-ridden Breeze should be there or thereabouts.
Cappananty Con’s record on the turf is not great with no wins in a dozen attempts, unlike his all-weather record, in which he boasts a 20 strike rate with three wins. Therefore, no surpise he’s 33/1 but Dane O’Neill is an interesting booking and he may be overpriced. Music Society looks interesting.
