DON’T LOOK DOWN makes his debut today for Solario Racing (Tring) in the lucky last at Wolverhampton, a 13-runner 1m 1 1/2furlong novice median auction stakes.
He has been working nicely at home and is starting off in a rather moderate race. However, he is drawn wide in 11, is taking runners, most of whom have run before and he is bred to get quite a bit further.
We are looking for a nice run from the Aussie Rules 3yo and whatever he does today, he’ll improve for the outing. He is a very nice horse in the making but lack of experience will probably find him out today. The market leaders, Acclafrith and Jedhi look the ones to beat.
Good luck to Solario Racing (Tring)!
Dean also runs Archdeacon and Soaring Spirits at Wolverhampton. The former, the mount of Martin Dwyer, is a 14/1 shot for the 6f novice auction stakes at 6.40pm. He showed promise at Windsor on his debut but again the market leaders Light My Fire and Strawberry Jack look big dangers.
Last time out winner, Soaring Spirits has an each-way chance at 11/1 in the 8.40, a 1m1/2f handicap, despite the wide draw. Jack Duern takes the ride.
At Windsor, Jack Louie is one of 13 runners in the 6.20, a 6f novice stakes. Robert Winston rides the 100/1 shot and he may fare better with Blaze Of Hearts in the 1m2 f handicap at 8.20 for which he is an 11/1 shot. Only six run and Jus Pires is an odds-on favourite but Blaze could outrun his price.
