Jack Duern – rides Fancy Flyer at Nottingham
FANCY FLYER ran well on his debut at Goodwood when fourth beaten 4 1/2 lengths and the Archipenko colt is interesting in the seven-runner 5f maiden at Nottingham today (1.45pm).
Dean’s horses tend to improve for their first run and today’s runner had Jack Duern on board claiming three pounds which should see the colt finish closer to one of today’s rivals, Moveonup, who was just a length ahead in the Goodwood contest.
Five of the seven have run before and Brian Meehan’s Napanook, second on his debut over 6f at Haydock, is warm 11/10 favourite and has to be feared. However, improvement is likely for most of those that have run before and at 11/1, Fancy Flyer might be worth chancing each-way.
