AUSSIE RULES GELDING STEPPING UP A GEAR

Don’t Look Down (nearside) working upsides

DON’T LOOK DOWN, the exciting unraced three-year-old grey gelding by Aussie Rules is stepping up his work and is definitely catching the eye of prospective owners.

In full work, he’s a very strong, athletic individual who despite being gelded earlier this year has lost none of his positive attitude and presence.  A strapping, powerful individual, he has a great stride and he knows it!

Bought out of Sir Mark Prescott’s yard at Tattersalls Horses In Training sale last year for 25,000 guineas, he’s bred to be a middle distance horse, by French 2,000 Guineas winner, Aussie Rules out of a Rainbow Quest mare, Miss Katmandu.  The dam has produced three winners from six runners including full-brother Tenzing Norgay, who won three races at three and was placed seven times.

The reason Don’t Look Down was sold was that the owner/breeder, Mr J L C Pearce had sadly died and all his horses went through the ring to settle the estate.

The horse is being syndicated in 1/12th shares for two seasons and was purchased with a view to running at three but having the pedigree to train on at four and he has all the hallmarks of being an exciting dual purpose prospect.  He has the size to jump hurdles for fun but this will be further down the line as he has a real future on the flat first!

The next stage in the horse’s development is to take him for a racecourse gallop, hopefully this week at Kempton where he’ll work over a trip.  Aussie Rules was a good miler who won the Shadwell Mile Turf in Kentucky but there is plenty of middle distance blood in his pedigree.

If you are thinking of getting involved in a small, professionally run syndicate and would like to see Don’t Look Down go through his paces at Kempton or at Harper Lodge Farm, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com to arrange a private viewing.
