LIBRISA BREEZE TOP-RATED BUT TASK TASK

LIBRISA BREEZE is the top-rated horse on official figures in today’s Al Quoz Sprint (3.05pm) at Meydan on Dubai World Cup Day but he still faces a tough ask.

The 119-rated grey has three pounds in hand on hot favourite, Blue Point but that doesn’t tell the whole story.  Today’s trip is over 6f and will be on good, quick ground which may not be ideal.  His best form came on the soft at Ascot in the Champions’ Sprint and bear in mind this dual big handicap winner over 7f was also second in the Royal Hunt Cup over a mile.

Dean thinks he could be even better over 7f to a mile and he may just struggle today given the conditions and trip.  The trainer also reported that the travel and taken a little out of the horse although he reports that he was better by the middle of the week.

At 10/1, he has an each-way chance but he’ll probably need to record a career best to beat some of these.  Blue Point has to be feared as does Jungle Cat and at longer odds, Washingto DC for Aidan O’Brien should relish the quicker ground than he encountered on Champions Day last October.

Good luck to Librisa Breeze who would still earn nearly £15,000 for coming sixth!
