ARTSCAPE made it two wins from just six career races when beating Curious Fox by a head yesterday at Goodwood in a 6f handicap under James Doyle.
Dean Ivory’s lightly raced 5yo son of Iffraaj won on just his second start earlier this year at Kempton, disappointed on his next two starts before running well at Nottingham last time out. His victory was a vindication of the promise he showed on his first win and there could well be more to come.
Bought as a yearling by Sheikh Mohammed for 100,000 guineas, he did not race for trainer Jim Bolger and was sold at Newmarket as a 3yo for 4,500 guineas. Given plenty of time by Dean Ivory, he made his debut in September last year at the age of four. With so few miles on the clock, he could be a sprinter with a future for owners Harlequin Direct Ltd & D Bloy.
