CAPPANANTY CON broke his debut today for Dean Ivory at Wolverhampton when defying top weight in a 6f handicap and thus gave another winner for his sire, Zebedee.
The stable has always thought quite a bit of the 3yo grey, who ran well in the Weatherbys Super Sprint behind Mrs Danvers last July but whose best placed from has been on the all-weather.
He appreciated the step back up to 6f and although faced with more in front of him than behind on the home turn, he showed a good turn of foot to slice through the opposition under Robert Winston and win going away by three-quarters of a length.
This was another impressive win against previous winners and there should be more to come from this likeable son of Zebedee.
Solario Racing has its own son of Zebedee, a strong, good-looking 2yo colt out of a Shamardal mare. A full-sister and a half-brother to two winners from two foals, who have won 11 races between them, he is being syndicated in 1/12th shares.
