Lulu Stanford – rides Catharina at Kempton
DEAN IVORY runs two today, Goldslinger in the 3pm at Southwell and Catharina in the 5.10 at Kempton and Lulu Stanford, claiming 5lbs, looks interesting on the latter.
The 4yo Dutch Art filly won over 11.5f on the turf earlier in the year but has struggled in four attempts on the all-weather. Maybe, the step up in trip to 1m4f and the booking of Lulu, will bring about some improvement. At 14/1, she may be worth a second each-way look.
Goldslinger is a 16/1 shot in the 1m6f handicap at Southwell and he also needs to spring back to life to trouble the judge. If taking to the fibresand for the first time and the step back up to 1m6f, he could show more but he does have a hot favourite in Western Prince to beat. Robert Winston rides, which is a plus but one needs a leap of faith to back the Harper Lodge inmate with confidence.
