YARD HAS A BOUT OF “THIRDITIS!”

Soaring Spirits - model of consistency

Soaring Spirits – model of consistency

DEAN ran eight horses last week and four of them finished third!

Soaring Spirits came closest to winning when third, beaten just one and a quarter lengths at Brighton, his favourite track.  He has been a model of consistency over the summer, having had three wins, two seconds and two thirds in his last seven starts, six of which have been at the Sussex track.  However, he has been climbing back up the ratings and the handicapper has just about got hold of him.

Spinning Rose was only beaten two lengths at Chelmsford while Harlequin Striker and Forever Yours were third at Yarmouth and Chepstow respectively.

Naturally the yard could do with a winner or two.  It would be nice if some of William Haggas’ good fortune could float its way from Newmarket to Radlett.  The Somerville Lodge handler is enjoying a real purple patch with nine winners from 27 runners in the last seven days!
