REVIEW OF THE WEEK: QUIET END TO AUGUST

Dean Ivory - still on target for record year

Dean Ivory – still on target for record year

DEAN sent out just seven runners last week and the month ended with no winners although two horses were placed.

Bobby Vee was third at Brighton and the very consistent Jack the Laird posted another second, at Wolverhampton.  While both were favourites, of the yard’s other five runners, three went off at 20/1 or bigger, so expectation was not generally high last week.

August was the quietest month this year with just the one winner, Kadrizzi at Ascot’s Shergar Cup Meeting.  However, the good news is that in each of the last two years, the stable has sent out 14 winners from September to December.

I’m sure it is only a matter time before the winners start to flow once more.

Roman Legion is well and I am going up to the stable on Friday to discuss with Dean plans for the rest of the year.
