JIM CROWLEY WELL BACKED FOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Jim Crowley - 5/2 for the jockeys' title

Jim Crowley – 5/2 for the jockeys’ title

JIM CROWLEY has been well backed of late to win this year’s Jockeys’ Championship and is now 5/2 second favourite, having been 50/1 at the start of the campaign.

He is currently on 74 winners, just four behind odds-on favourite and reigning champion, Silvestre De Sousa but all the money recently has been for Jim Crowley, whose agent Tony Hind is quietly confident he can win the title.

“Given the right material he can do it. Given the right material he will do it,” said the agent who has masterminded six of the last ten championship titles for Messrs Moore and Hughes.

Jim Crowley has ridden many winners for Dean Ivory over the years and in 2013, numerically the best ever year for the Master of Harper Lodge Farm with 39 winners, Jim was aboard 10 of them.  Since Robert Winston has become the stable’s main jockey, Jim has ridden less for the yard but he has been a major player for the Radlett yard over the years.

Jim has also ridden for Solario Racing, so we wish him well in his quest to become champion jockey.
