ELJADDAAF EDGES DEAN IVORY CLOSER TO £400,000

Dean Ivory – closing in on £400k

DEAN IVORY followed up LIbrisa Breeze’s big Saturday win at Ascot with another victory yesterday as Eljaddaaf won comfortably at Wolverhampton to put the stable on the brink of reaching £400,000 for the year.

It may have been lower profile fayre but Eljaddaaf was winning his third race in his last four starts and his fifth race of the year.  The 5yo son of Shamardal started winning off 55 back in February and yesterday was victorious off a mark 18 pounds higher.  As his best work is always done at the business end of his races, he never wins too far, so it’s difficult for the handicapper to be too harsh.

Robert Winston was the man on board and he has now ridden 23 of the stable’s 26 wins at a very healthy 23% strike rate.  Robert has ridden winners for other top trainers including Hughie Morrison and Richard Fahey but it is very surprising he is not getting a lot more “outside” rides.  It is surely only a matter of time before his skills in the saddle get the attention they deserve.

In the meantime, which horse this week will bring up the £400k for Dean Ivory?
