CASPIAN PRINCE is Dean’s sole runner tomorrow when top-weight in the 17-runner 5f handicap at Ascot and he could do with the heavens opening!
Winner of the “Epsom Dash” on Derby Day, the 109-rated sprinter is a serious horse when conditions are right but he has never won on Good to Firm, which unless the weather turns, he will have to face tomorrow in the 4.35.
The 12-times winning son of Dylan Thomas is also high enough in the ratings, so while he should run his usual honest race, the 16/1 shot will need to record a career best to win under Robert Winston. In a very competitive race, last time out winner, Shamshon might be the call for the in-form Jamies, Osborne and Spencer.
