MORE RAIN THE BETTER FOR CASPIAN PRINCE AT YORK

Caspian Prince – runs at York

CASPIAN PRINCE is one of two Dean Ivory runners at York today and the more rain the better for the recent winner of the Dash at Epsom.

He is one of 11 runners in the 5f Listed contest due off at 4.50pm and strictly on ratings he has a bit to find with a few of his rivals but if the current going of Good, Good to Soft in places eases further, his chances would be enhanced further.  He is a 14/1 chance under Robert Winston and has an each-way chance in a very competitive race in which Sir Mark Prescott’s Marsha could be a serious player.

Dean’s other runner Firmdecisions is a 33/1 chance in the mile handicap due off at 3pm.  Ease in the ground would not be in his favour, especially as there is a doubt over the new trip of a mile (all his five wins have come over 7f).  Robert Winston again takes the ride.

It is a cracking day’s racing with top quality fayre on offer at Newmarket, Ascot and York.  The July Cup is a mouth-watering contest at HQ and my three against the field are Quiet Reflection, Air Force Blue and Arod.
