CHARLES EDDERY gave Eljaddaaf a strong ride at Kempton this evening to win by a neck and the victory brought up Dean Ivory’s 23rd win of the year.
Drawn on the outside in 10 was not ideal but the son of Shamardal was always in touch and ridden two out, the 5/1 favourite ran on to get his head in front from the second favourite, Picket LIne. The horse did not particularly help his jockey in the home straight but Charles galvanised the horse to record his own 25th career win.
This was Eljadaaff’s fourth win in just 11 starts and the 71-rated 5yo clearly likes the all-weather and particularly Kempton, at which this was his third success.
Dean Ivory is on course for his best ever season in terms of winners and he is certainly ahead of the game compared with last year as his 23 wins in 2016 is one more than he had achieved by the end of August last year.
