LINKS DRIVE LADY, one of three Dean Ivory runners tonight at Windsor, needs to break well to justify favouritism in the 7.20, a six furlong handicap.
The eight-times winner (three times over course and distance) has tended to fluff her lines at the start in recent races, giving away ground. If she is smarter away under three pounds claimer, Jack Duern, she can take advantage of the Good to Soft conditions and of being on a winning mark. At 4/1, she has a solid each-way chance.
Robert Winston is aboard Harlequin Striker, half an hour later in the 7.50, a mile handicap. This is the first time the 4yo son of Bahamian Bounty has been over a mile, so the trip is something of an unknown. However, he will like conditions and is just a pound higher than a winning mark. At 10/1 he too has an each-way chance. However, if the money for hot favourite, Bunbury is well placed, the Richard Hughes charge is home and hosed but at 13/8 he does look incredibly short.
Dean’s third runner, Raven’s Heart, is a 100/1 shot in the 1m2f maiden at 8.20 under Renato Souza. The 4yo is having just his second ever start and will face easier opportunities in the future.
