Robert Winston – rides Kadrizzi in the Charity Sprint

ROBERT WINSTON, who a week ago, won the Epsom “Dash” on Caspian Prince, today seeks another big win on Kadrizzi in the £100,000 Charity Sprint Handicap at York (3.35pm).

The 3yo son of Hurricane Cat is one of two Dean Ivory runners in the race as the yard also saddles another 3yo, Twin Sails, ridden by Pat Cosgrave.  They are rated 101 and 96 respectively and have both won over today’s distance although the former has won twice over the minimum on the all-weather at Chelmsford and Lingfield.

A low draw may confer a slight advantage and in that respect Kadrizzi has the edge in three while his stable companion is berthed in eight.  However, it is a very competitive sprint and they are both big prices (Kadrizzi 25/1 and Twin Sails 33/1) to bring home the bacon.  While they have sporting each-way chances, those with more serious form claims today include Udontdoyou and Show Stealer.

The yard has an easier opportunity with Tagula Night in the 3.55 at Sandown, a 5f handicap he won in 2014.  Well handicapped these days, the 10yo has apprentice, Jack Duern on board climbing three pounds and the chestnut son of Tagula is a 9/1 shot to win the race for the second time.  Quite well drawn in five, he has a fair each-way chance if regaining his best form.
