ROBERT WINSTON travelled to Salisbury today for one mount, R Bar Open, trained by Dean Ivory and his endeavours were duly rewarded, so continuing the good form of both stable and jockey.
The son of Orpen, was only having his fifth ever run but he had not shown much form to date. However, the stable is really beginning to fire with three of the previous five runners having obliged and Robert Winston was fresh from his big win on Caspian Prince in the Epsom “Dash” on Derby Day.
The winner benefited from a wide draw and making good headway two furlongs out, he ran on well inside the final furlong to win by a neck from Moi Aussi, one of the two joint-favourites.
This was Robert Winston’s 1450th domestic winner since 1997 and was trainer, Dean Ivory’s 19th win of the year at a strike rate of 16%.
