ROMAN LEGION WINS THE DAY!

Roman Legion

Roman Legion

SOLARIO RACING’S Holy Roman Emperor colt has been named Roman Legion by his owners in Solario Racing (Verulamium). Each of the partnership’s owners were asked to come up with a name and then voting was conducted this week on the various suggestions.  The winning name was announced today at Dean Ivory’s Harper Lodge Farm stables where many of the owners gathered for their equine “christening.”

Roman Legion, surprisingly available as a name, won the day by two votes from Elygius, much to the delight of owner, Carolyn Whitaker, who put forward the name. Owners watched their pride and joy on the gallops before toasting the new name with a glass of champagne. We then adjourned to Freddie’s restaurant in St Albans for a leisurely lunch. The partnership includes owners from as far afield as Scotland, Nottinghamshire and Buckinghamshire.  There are limited shares still available in Roman Legion, so if you would like to  get involved in a colt who will be making his debut during May, why not come and see him on the gallops?  Please contact the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 to arrange a suitable day.
