DEAN IVORY has made a great start to the season with two winners from seven runners and he goes to Chelmsford today in search of more all-weather success with three runners, San Quentin, Lucymai and Justice.
San Quentin runs in the 5.40, a nine-runner extended 1m5f handicap and he is looking to make it back-to-back wins following his last time out victory at Kempton. Robert Winston rides the 5/2 jolly and the pair should go close.
Lucymai won on her debut as a juvenile last season at 50/1 but only had one more run. This lightly-raced daughter of Multiplex is top-weight in the 7f handicap, due off at 6.10pm and if straight enough after a 202-day absence, could reward each-way backers at 10/1. Again, Robert Winston rides.
Finally, Justice, one of the yard’s lesser lights, runs in the 7.40, a low grade 6f handicap and while she has some ability, this Lawman filly, ridden by Jimmy Quinn, is one of only two 3yos taking on older horses, so this 12/1 shot, although she has an each-way squeak, may have better opportunities.
