LANCELOT DU LAC won at Kempton this evening and earned £12k in prize money, thereby edging Dean Ivory ever closer to a record £1/2 million in total prize money for the year.
The 5yo son of Shamadal was winning his second race of the year and he did so comfortably by 1 1/4 lengths in the 0-105 6f handicap.
Rated 3lbs lower than his third in this year’s Wokingham, the top-weight made the most of his number two draw, making all under Robert Winston. The 11/8 favourite never looked in danger.
Dean has now passed £490,000 in prize money and this was his 34th winner of the year, his second best ever total since taking out a licence in 2002.
