ROBERT WINSTON returned to the saddle yesterday after a 53-day absence and he was in the number one spot on only his second ride, on Golden Amber at Chelmsford for long-time supporter, Dean Ivory.

Robert had previously been placed four out of seven times on the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor but he made no mistake this time.  The 89-rated 4yo sprinter won the 6f  handicap and the near £13k first prize by a comfortable two lengths.

She was a previous course and distance winner and the winning jockey commented: “Golden Amber was a bit outpaced early doors but picked up nicely in the straight and did it well. She really tries her heart out around here.”
