LANCELOT DU LAC has his biggest racing challenge to date when lining up for the Group One Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan today at 2.30pm.
The race is worth over £640,000 with £384,000 going to the winner. Dean Ivory’s 5yo son of Shamardal has improved since being gelded last year and has been second and fourth in three runs in Dubai this year. He will have to run a career best to beat some of the world’s top speedsters under Jim Crowley and although that may be a tall order for the 25/1 shot, with prize money down to sixth place, he could well be in the money.
Win, lose or draw what an experience for connections, for whom this is their first Dubai World Cup day runner.
