MIMRAM AND ELJADDAAF IN ANOTHER STABLE DOUBLE

Mimram - sparked 56/1 double

Mimram – sparked 56/1 double

MIMRAM broke her duck while Eljaddaaf won his eighth career race as the two combined for another stable double earlier today at Lingfield at the rewarding odds of 56/1.  Both horses were ridden by the yard’s principal rider, Robert Winston.

Three-year-old filly Mimram, who was having just her sixth career start and who was stepping up to a mile for the first time, was one of seven runners, all maidens.  While last time out at Chelmsford, the daughter of Kheleyf made all in a 7f handicap and was gunned down close home, on this occasion, the 6/1 shot took it up over a furlong out.  In a nail-biting three-way finish, she held on by a nose from Ods On Oli and a neck from the third, favourite, Solid Man.

Having won by the minimum distance, the handicapper can hardly be too hard upon Mimram, who is technically owned by Lesley Ivory (but congratulations to young William Ivory, who really owns him!)

Eljaddaaf had a few more runners to contend with as 14 lined up for a decent 0-90 7f handicap.  This 7yo son of Shamardal loves to be held up and Robert Winston is excellent at adopting such tactics.  Last time out Eljaddaaf came from last to first and similar tactics were adopted again.  Going off at 8/1, he came with a rare rattle inside the final furlong, showing a great turn of foot to get up in the dying strides to deny the second favourite, Mickey by a neck.

This was another impressive performance from Eljaddaaf as he was drawn widest of all and was running off a career high mark of 92.  Robert Winston rode him with supreme confidence to make it win number eight from 26 starts for this tough and seemingly improving gelding.as the yard continues in great order, this being the ninth win of 2018.
