SOLARIO RACING’S “Five-To-Follow” competition has attracted plenty of interest from Owners, staff and friends and the two most popular horses are Dancinginthewoods, aka “Woody” and Hot Chesnut.

Entrants were asked to choose five horses from the horses in training at Harper Lodge Farm, comprising two from the two and three-year-old lists and three older horses.  The competition which began on Saturday, the start of the turf season runs until the end of the calendar year and includes both turf and all-weather races.  Points are awarded for a win, second, third and fouth places with double points given for Group or Listed races.

From the 37 entries, Solario Racing’s 4yo son of Garswood attracted 25 selections, four ahead of 3yo Hot Chesnut.  Owned by Solario Racing (Ashridge), the 80-rated gelding has some great juvenile form.  After winning on his debut at HQ at 50/1, he finished behind the high class Pinatubo and was second to subsequent Dante winner, Thunderous.  He didn’t win last year but was just denied, again at Newmarket, beaten just a head in a 7f handicap.  Clearly, many people think he could have a good year!

Hot Chesnut, a half-sister to the stable’s seven times-winner, Fighting Temeraire, made her belated debut at Lingfield earlier this month and ran a race full of promise to be third, beaten just two lengths.  She looks sure to improve and could have a future.

Other older horses to attract plenty of interest were the lightly-raced Pledge Of Honour, with one win and four places from just seven starts and multiple winner, Badenscoth while Laurentia and Yimou, both successful four times, were other popular choices.

Of the youngsters, Solario Racing’s unnamed 2yo Twilight Son filly caught many an eye, as she has since being broken in.  She should be out fairly early and looks a sharp sort.  There are limited shares available, so to find out more or book a no-obligation visit to see her on the gallops, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email info@solarioracing.com.
