VARSOVIAN STILL ON WINNING MARK

Robert Winston - good chance on Varsovian

Robert Winston – good chance on Varsovian

VARSOVIAN, winner last time out at Lingfield, today returns to the track at which he has recorded four of his six victories for the 4.30, a 6f handicap.

A 6f specialist, this course and distance winner is a pound below his highest winning handicap mark and drawn five, with Robert Winston aboard, he looks worth following at around 3/1.

Only six line up for the staying handicap at 5pm over nearly two miles and the stable’s Treble Strike makes his handicap debut.  The 4yo son of Hat Trick has pieces of form but he disappointed the last twice and interesting that Jack Duern is aboard the 9/1 shot rather than Robert Winston.   It is difficult to be confident about his chances in a tricky contest.

Poet’s Quest makes her belated racecourse debut at Kempton this evening in the 7.45, a mile maiden.  The 25/1 chance will be doing well to beat the likes of Surrey Hope, sixth on his debut and well-bred Godolphin newcomer, Hold Sway.  Robert Winston rides.
