Twilight Son filly arrives at Harper Lodge Farm

THE TWILIGHT SON 2yo filly arrived early afternoon at Harper Lodge Farm today ready to start life as a racehorse in her new home.

She was born and bred at Childwickbury Stud down the road from the stables and returned there after Solario Racing purchased her for 16,000 guineas at the October Yearling Sales.  It’s quite a test for youngsters when they’re being prepared for the sales and indeed at the sales, so it’s good to let them chill out for a while afterwards which is what the filly has been doing  for the last three months.

Stud Manager, Max Weston and the team have however done a lot of the preparatory breaking in work with her including lungeing and long-reining.  Dean’s team will now finish the process and it will not be long before she is sat on and ridden away.

“Twinkle”, as the Twilight Son filly is affectionately known, soon settled into her new home and has a nice big airy box in the main quad.  Dean Ivory was on hand to see Solario Racing’s new arrival and soon bonded with her.

The filly is being syndicated in quarter shares and on looks and paper, she should be a relatively early two-year-old and should make her racecourse debut in the spring.  By the dual Group One sprint winner, Twilight Son, she is out of a Bahamian Bounty mare, Miss Winifred, who has produced four winners from six runners including the 85-rated Sir Maxi, who won twice and was runner-up on two occasions from all four starts.

She is eligible for the £20,000 Great British Bonus Scheme and also has an early entry in the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes at Newmarket in the autumn.
