JACK THE LAIRD is one of two Dean Ivory runners at Kempton today, when lining up for a 6f handicap at 7.15pm and he has been well supported from 10/1 into around 6/1.
The 4yo son of Acclamation has had a touch of seconditis in the past and he is reasonably handicapped to go well again today off his mark off his mark of 63. Being drawn eight of ten is not great but hopefully Robert Winston can overcome that and reward each-way backers. Rigoletto and maybe Fleeting Glimpse if he settles, could prove the main dangers in an open race.
Golden Amber runs in a Conditions race over 6f an hour earlier at 6.15 and at the weights the Holy Roman Emperor mare has it all to do to beat the market leaders but she often runs well in Conditions races and may outrun her 14/1 price tag. However, it is very difficult to see her winning.
