SOLARIO RACING HOSPITALITY A BIG HIT AT NEWBURY

Having a good time

Having a good time

SOLARIO RACING hosted a hospitality day at Newbury today on the first day of the September Dubai Duty Free meeting and the small but select group of guests in The Racegoers Restaurant had a great day with plenty of winners.

Fabulous weather, good quality racing with plenty of potential stars on show on an eight race card and a private table in The Racegoers’ Restaurant…what could be better?

Solario Racing owners and Solario Racing guests enjoyed an afternoon of champagne and a three-course lunch with free-flowing wine, not to mention the ever popular tipster competition.  On a day which saw winners at 20/1, 25/1 and 16/1, there were still plenty of smiles as the “shrewdies” ignored the form book and the Racing Manager…and backed the outsiders!

Former jockey, Colin Brown (remember him on Desert Orchid?)  was MC in the restaurant and he gave an incisive run-through  of the card, selecting several winners.  He was also a very hospitable host in taking the Solario Racing guests to the paddock for the feature race of the day, the Listed race over 7f, won by Tabarrak under champion jockey, Jim Crowley.

In terms of future stars, it surely had to be the emphatic win of Magnolia Springs on her debut at 25/1 in the Fillies’ Conditions Race over seven furlongs.

As for the tipster competition, it was a photo-finish…a three-way tie!

I am delighted to say we also raised money for Hannah Partridge, who rides out for Dean Ivory on Saturdays and who is having her first ever race at Ascot on November 24th and is raising money for The Prince’s Countryside Fund.
