ANGEL OF THE SOUTH was the stable’s first 2yo runner of the year and she went so close to making it a winning debut for the daughter of Dark Angel when beaten just a neck at Windsor last Monday.

Costing £170,000 as a yearling, she knew her job but was not given a hard time and should go one better before too long.

The consistent but difficult to win with Jack The Laird was third over 7f at Chelmsford while at Lingfield’s all-weather championships on Good Friday, Kadrizzi ran a stormer to finish fifth, beaten two lengths in the apprentice handicap.  Lancelot Du Lac ran below form to finish fourth in the sprint, having become very warm at the start.  Both picked up prize money as did Varsovian when 4th at Lingfield in a 6f handicap.
