LANCLEOT DU LAC has bee slipping down the weights and today runs off 90 today at Chelmsford in the 3.50 and with an additional 5lbs off his back due to Sophie Ralston’s claims, he looks well worth a second glance.
He has never had a claimer on before and although not the force of old, he still retains plenty of ability and enthusiasm and drawn four of eight, he should go close. There has been support for him and he’s around the 11/4 mark.
Sophie also rides Fancy Flyer in the 3.15, a 7f handicap but the outside draw will not help and he’s weak in the market at 25/1. She has a much better chance on Kerrera, a 1m2f Classified Stakes at 1.10pm and the horse is market leader at 3/1. Joey Haynes’ mount Lady Of York looks a major threat.
Finally, another well handicapped horse, Kadrizzi, runs at Chelmsford for the yard, a mile handicap, due off at 2.10pm. The 7yo son of Hurrican Cat is now running off 66, 31lbs below his last winning mark, back in August 2016. With Franny Norton in the plate for the first time, he may be worth an each-way look at a rather big 16/1.
