RAINS ARRIVE…AND STAKE ACCLAIM BOLTS UP!

Dean Ivory - impressive winner at Windsor

Dean Ivory – impressive winner at Windsor

STAKE ACCLAIM had his ground at Windsor tonight and the Dean Ivory trained son of Acclamation bolted up by four lengths in the feature race of the evening, the Skybet Windsor Sprint Series Handicap (Qualifier).

After significant rain during the evening, the ground was changed from Good to Firm to Good but in fact the race after Stake Acclaim’s, it was officially Soft!

Under Robert Winston, the horse took advantage of the low draw and ploughed a lone furrow along the stand’s rail to lead and the pair never looked like getting caught.

Having run well in three starts this year including a third at Windsor and a last time out second at Newmarket, both over 5f, the step up to 6f clearly suited and this was a career high winning mark off 89.

Clearly, the handicapper will up the ante and Stake Acclaim will be well into the 90s come this time next week.  However, he has always been held in high regard at Harper Lodge Farm and today’s victory could be the confidence builder he needs for further successes this season.
