HANNAH PARTRIDGE, who rides out on Saturdays at Harper Lodge Farm is fulfilling a dream come true when having her first ride in public tomorrow at Ascot in a charity race aboard Soaring Spirits.
The charity is the Prince’s Countryside Fund, a charity dear to the heart of Hannah, who says on her fundraising page: “Having grown up in Wiltshire in a world of farming and horses, I know first hand the importance of supporting and preserving the rural economy. The Prince’s Countryside Fund exists to improve the prospects of family farm businesses and the quality of rural life.”
Mrs Partridge, aged 38, married and a mother of two young children, works full time as a Business Director for London-based creative agency, Mr President. She has worked for the last 16 years in marketing and started off as Marketing Executive for Ascot Racecourse, so to have her first ever ride in public at Ascot holds special appeal.
As for the competition, Hannah will be riding against none other than former England international forward, Michael Owen, who is also having his first ride in public. Understandably, the former Liverpool star has been grabbing all the headlines but not all necessarily for the right reasons! He fell off twice on the gallops at Newmarket on the same day!
Eleven go to post for the seven furlong contest and among the other riders are Sheikh Fahad bin Abdullah Al Thani who runs Qatar Racing with his two brothers and who was second in the race last year.
Mrs Partridge may not be on the best horse in the race in terms of ratings but she is on an eight-times winner, twice over seven furlongs and the horse, owned by Doreen Carter, will give her a good ride.
Solario Racing owners have been generous already in donating to Hannah Partridge’s cause and thank you. If you have not already donated but would like to, here is the link:
Good Luck Hannah!
